International Centre of Excellence in Mining Safety & Automation

The International Centre of Excellence in Mining Safety & Automation (iCEM) is GMDC’s initiative to advance safer, smarter and more technology driven mining in India. Established with the Government of Gujarat, the centre serves as a platform for innovation, training and industry collaboration. iCEM focuses on testing emerging mining technologies, strengthening safety systems and building skilled leadership for the sector. Through research partnerships, pilot projects and specialised training programmes, the centre helps prepare the mining industry for evolving demands such as critical minerals, digital operations and higher safety standards.
