Fluorspar (or fluorite) is a calcium fluoride mineral known for its isometric crystal structure and high reactivity. Essential in numerous high-temperature and chemical processes, fluorspar is classified as a strategic mineral globally.
GMDC’s Ambadungar Fluorspar Mine in Kawant Taluka, Chhota Udepur District, has been a cornerstone of the corporation’s mineral portfolio since 1963. Spanning 63.2 hectares with estimated reserves of 11.6 million tonnes, the site is poised for operational revival and beneficiation plant upgrades.
