Wind Energy

GMDC is steadily expanding its presence in wind energy, with seven operational wind farms across Gujarat and a total installed capacity of 200.9 MW. These projects are spread across key wind-rich regions including Kutch, Porbandar, Devbhumi Dwarka, Jamnagar, Rajkot and Bhavnagar, and play a vital role in supporting Gujarat’s shift towards cleaner energy.

In FY 2023–24, GMDC’s wind portfolio generated 320.95 million units of clean electricity, contributing significantly to the state’s renewable power supply. Several sites stood out for their strong performance, especially the Rojmal wind farm, which delivered over 88 million units of power. Another site, Adodar (Gorsar), achieved the highest generation efficiency across GMDC’s wind assets.

Looking ahead, GMDC is actively working on expanding its wind energy capacity further, including developing new projects under a hybrid model that combines both wind and solar power. These efforts align with Gujarat’s long-term clean energy vision and GMDC’s goal of building a diversified, sustainable energy portfolio.
